Matt Metz
President

Matt Metz brings 23 years of Fortune 100 consulting and process improvement experience to the Board. Before coming to Scottsdale Ranch, he served on the Board of his prior HOA for 11 years – 10 of those as president. At Scottsdale Ranch, Matt has served on the Board for eleven years, nine of those as President. He also serves as Board Member and Treasurer for Scottsdale Council of Homeowners Associations, and has made presentations to SCOHA and the West Valley Homeowners Association on writing effective landscaping contracts and effective HOA funding. For fun, Matt enjoys volunteer activities, travel, computers, and designing websites.

Dave Specht
Vice President
Board Term Expires: 4/2027

Originally from the Chicago area, Dave and his wife Kathie have lived in Arizona for over 30 years, moving to Scottsdale Ranch in 2015. As an active member of the Heritage Village IV HOA, Dave served on the Board of Directors for five years, over three years as Treasurer. Dave has also chaired several HOA committees including Landscape, Finance, Communications, Social and has supported several community improvement workgroups. A past member of the Scottsdale Coalition of Homeowners Associations, Dave has participated in numerous informational programs offered by the Scottsdale Ranch Community Association and the City of Scottsdale.

Mike Breslin
Treasurer
Board Term Expires: 4/2027

Mike Breslin knows how to deal effectively with employees, management, and clients as well as national and local government officials. In Chicago, Illinois, he was the Vice Chairman of Human Resources and Law Worldwide at Leo Burnett Co. Inc. and a board member of the Executives Club of Chicago. Mike served as Board President of the Las Brisas HOA for many years and most recently served as Board President of SRCA. After a year off, Mike was recently re-elected to the SRCA board and is currently serving as the Treasurer.

Nina Munson
Secretary
Board Term Expires: 4/2026

Nina Munson’s 40 year professional career included counseling, mediation, leadership, operations management, and educational administration. She earned her Masters degree from University of Denver and Bachelors degree from SUNY Brockport. She has served on numerous non-profit boards as a member as well as Board President, Vice President and Secretary. Nina and her husband, Brian, moved to Scottsdale Ranch in 1986 where they raised their two sons. Life’s enjoyments include travel, flipping homes, gardening and spending time at their Pinetop home.

Ron Auerbach
Director
Board Term Expires: 4/2026

Having moved from Minnesota to Arizona in 1988, Ron established his architectural/project management business until retiring in 2008. Since then, he served on the Las Brisas Board of Directors for three 3-year terms, finishing his last term as Vice President. Additionally, while chairman of both the Architectural Committee and the Pools & Tennis Court Committee, Ron managed virtually every community project undertaken at Las Brisas. These projects required coordination and interfacing with homeowners, SRCA, the City of Scottsdale, contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and manufacturers. In his spare time, Ron maintains an active lifestyle enjoying hiking, backpacking, camping, cycling, tennis, pickleball, and many other outdoor activities.

Mike Thorlin
Director

Mike is a 20 year resident of Scottsdale Ranch and a native Arizonan. While this is his first experience as an HOA board member, Mike has 32 years of experience in engineering, project management, business development and even spent three years as an Assistant Defense Attache assigned overseas as part of his service in the Arizona Army National Guard. Mike will shortly retire as a Lieutenant Colonel, having served for 26 years as an infantry officer, both at home and abroad, in locations that include Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Poland and the Baltics.

Peter Klausner

A Scottsdale Ranch resident since 2001, Peter brings a valuable combination of homeowner insight and business acumen to the board. In addition to his active community involvement and support for Ranch initiatives, he offers over 40 years of experience in both the private and public sectors. Peter has been deeply involved in the entrepreneurial technology space and is a U.S patent holder, reflecting his commitment to innovation and forward thinking. Peter is the chair of the SRCA Governmental Committee and also a member of the Election and Communications Committees.
