Matt Metz
President
Board Term Expires: 4/2022

Matt Metz brings 23 years of Fortune 100 consulting and process improvement experience to the Board. Before coming to Scottsdale Ranch, he served on the Board of his prior HOA for 11 years – 10 of those as president. At Scottsdale Ranch, Matt has served on the Board for six years, four of those as President. He also serves as Board Member and Treasurer for Scottsdale Council of Homeowners Associations, and has made presentations to SCOHA and the West Valley Homeowners Association on writing effective landscaping contracts and effective HOA funding. For fun, Matt enjoys volunteer activities, travel, computers, and designing websites.

Michele Holzman
Vice President
Board Term Expires: 4/2022

Michele Holzman has been an active member of the SRCA Architectural Committee since moving to Scottsdale Ranch 2 years ago.  Prior to moving here, she served for 5 years on the Arrowhead HOA Architectural Committee. She recently retired from her position as Executive Vice President with a national health care company, responsible for 15 offices east of the Mississippi. She and her husband, Stuart, continue to own a small business in Wisconsin and manage it from their home in Scottsdale Ranch.

Barbara Sarwar
Treasurer
Board Term Expires: 4/2021

Barbara Sarwar worked for twenty five years as a Director of Special Education in New Mexico. Along with an extensive educational background, she has also sat on the boards of numerous organizations. She is passionate about the upkeep and maintenance of her community and is enthusiastic about working with committees and organizations therein.

Nina Munson
Secretary
Board Term Expires: 4/2022

Nina Munson’s 40 year professional career included counseling, mediation, leadership, operations management, and educational administration. She earned her Masters degree from University of Denver and Bachelors degree from SUNY Brockport.  She has served on numerous non-profit boards as a member as well as Board President, Vice President and Secretary.  Nina and her husband, Brian, moved to Scottsdale Ranch in 1986 where they raised their two sons.  Life’s enjoyments include travel, flipping homes, gardening and spending time at their Pinetop home.

Mark Shimelonis
Director
Board Term Expires: 4/2021

Mark Shimelonis is a retired corporate executive and dedicated professional volunteer. He holds a bachelor in engineering and graduate degrees in business and organization development. He has experience as a director with Gainey Ranch and Pinnacle Paradise communities and on the board for Scottsdale Public Libraries. Mark and Connie live in our Hillcrest community and enjoy tennis and biking.  Mark is a strong advocate of open two way communication to promote good relations between owners and homeowner associations.

Joe Dawson

As a Certified Financial Planner, Joe Dawson is responsible for coordinating the finances and investments of over 200 families.  During his professional career, he managed the growth and development of a major US securities firm for an area that included 1 US State and 2 Canadian Provinces.  Joe has lived in Scottsdale Ranch for 11 years and currently sits as Member for the City of Scottsdale Board of Adjustment and is President of the Scottsdale Bay Club.  Together, with Barbara, they are parents to six grown children, are founders of the BMW Social Club of Arizona and love to spend their time with family and friends.

Alex Darrooddi
Director
Board Term Expires: 4/2021

Alex Darroodi received his law degree from Georgetown University and his bachelors in accounting from the University of Maryland. With a background as a CPA and an attorney, he brings a multi-disciplinary perspective and provides sound direction and advice with an understanding of both legal and financial implications.  Alex is in-house counsel for an internationally renowned consumer products company based here in Scottsdale, AZ. He enjoys the Scottsdale Ranch community with his wife and young daughter.
